We are going to start where we left off last week; Goroh and Gorland are in the waiting room. Kansu and Mina are in town having just spoken to Lilith's maid. And Soren has just mailed a letter.
+Gorland is quite pleased at successfully completing his query, more or less, and heads back to the dining room.
Goroh heads back too
Soren takes care of a few other minor things before going to meet back up with Mina.
It doesn't take a lot of walking before Soren spots Mina and Kansu on their way to the waiting room.
<@Soren> "'lo. Any luck?"
Gorland has at this time reached the Dining room as well. "I learned that it seems like certain things are being covered up. I’m wondering if our best sources might lie outside of the castle. The librarian suspects that Lilith merely ran off to a friend. Do any of you know anyone that she'd run off to? Or anywhere she'd feel an impulse to go? If they are, or it is, easily contacted, then maybe we can dig up something there.."
<+Gorland> "Admittedly, I couldn't get a good read on the Librarian ..Don't know if he's trustworthy or not. He seemed unwilling to help though."
Soren shrugs. "Can't be sure. What'd your letters say, Mina, Kansu?"
Mina scratches her head "Just to come if I could, nothing else of importance."
<+Mina> "As for Pepki she apparently heard Lilith arguing with a man before she vanished, that’s if what she says is true."
<+Mina> "But thats all we could learn from her"
<+Goroh> "Couldn't get a reading on the librarian either
<+Mina> "So we’re no better off that before." *Mina sighs slightly*
Soren frowns. "Hm. Alright. Kansu?"
<+Kansu> "Hmm?"
<+Gorland> "Well. There was another thing, Miss Mina, but I'll save that for after Kansu's revelations."
<@Soren> "Just wondering about your letter. What exactly did Lilith tell you?"
<+Kansu> "She tried to tell me a few things, but I'm sure she was prevented from doing so - Her mail was being read before being sent out."
Soren sighs, more than a little frustrated. "Can't be a little more specific?"
<+Kansu> "She's been seeing things she can't talk about."
Kansu shrugs.
<@Soren> "More than I got. All she mentioned in mine was that she was 'having'...something or other. Didn't continue."
<+Mina> "My letter just asked me to come here, that she needed my help. That was all."
<+Gorland> "Hrm...I wonder if the books will give us any insight," Gorland pondered allowed. "That would bring me to my other lead. Sir Lyndian will be handing over to me Lilith's recent checkouts from the library, as well as the Journal I was instructed to keep of her daily activities and anything important. I will. Explain that one outside of the castle."
<+Gorland> "But perhaps she was researching whatever was on her mind when she wrote those letters."
<+Gorland> "Also, Miss Mina... If in your letter she specified needing your help. Is there anything you specialize at? Or perhaps I'm reading too much into things."
Mina considers the question for a moment "No..."
<+Mina> "I know some fairly common magic but that’s all."
<+Gorland> "Hrm..I see.."
Footsteps can be heard in the hall as a group passes by the open door; Sir Lyndian, the King, and a cloaked visitor. The king and the visitor keep conversing in muted voices as they walk past and continue down the hall, but Sir Lyndian departs their company and enters the room. ‘Sorry that took so long, Gorland.’
<+Gorland> "No, no, Sir Lyndian," Gorland said with a 'respectful bow' of the head. "I'm sure with such a dubious looking visitor, your much too busy conspiring devilish plots."
Sir Lyndian narrows his eyes; "Hmmm." he tosses a key to the ground at Gorland's feet. "There you are; as requested."
<+Gorland> "The Journal and books are in her room then?"
"The books are in her room; and I'm sorry to have to say this - but the journal no longer exists."
Sir Lyndian shrugs casually. ‘The king dozed off while reading it by candle light; and when he awoke the flame had greedily eaten the pages.’
<+Gorland> "That seems most convenient for anyone protected by such an accident, doesn't it, Sir Lyndian?"
<+Gorland> "Tell me.. Did this.. Just occur? Seeing as how you made no mention of it moments ago."
He scratches his chin and frowns; "I was busy, as you know. I didn't think to bring it up at the time."
Gorland fingers the keys and shrugs. "Oh well. I suppose this shall do."
Sir Lyndian looks to the nails on his right hand; examining them as if they are the most interesting thing in the room; ‘Indeed. If you need anything else come find me; I will be most thrilled to oblige.’ He turns and exits the room.
Gorland turns to the group. "If anyone thinks I'm being paranoid when I suggest that something is amiss, please let me know."
<+Goroh> "So. The king and his shadowy friend... Apparently a 'precious instrument' has gone missing and the king has promised to do everything in his power to retrieve it."
<+Goroh> "It could be related to the princess' disappearance."
<@Soren> "Thanks for that brilliant insight." Soren rolls his eyes. "I'll wait for my response at the King's Pillow. You three..." He looks to Mina, Kansu and Gorland. "Do whatever. If you think you have a lead, go for it."
Mina begins to fidget with her pendent "And by leads you mean information we have no way of proving considering the questionable sources?"
<@Soren> "Mhm."
<+Gorland> "Investigations are never easy. I'll go to Lilith's room," she said, turning to Mina and Kansu. "Perhaps you may want to accompany me..Might find some clues for yourselves there."
<+Mina> "Alright sounds good."
Goroh heads to follow Sir Lyndian, trying to stay out of sight and quiet while observing him
