The blade slices across Soren’s torso, sending him flying back a good five feet until he smacks into the hull of the ship. It is hard to determine the extent of the damage due to his thick winter clothing, but his coats are quickly turning red and blood begins to freeze on his lips as it attempts to dribble out. Though his face holds the same smirk it did before the blow, his eyes show that he is in shock.
The guard behind Soren(PC) steps back five paces, and holds a defensive stance.
Kansu looks at the scene and sighs, "Looks like we need name tags now."
Mina turns her attention to the other guard near her once more raising her left arm and attempting to knock him into the cold water near by
For the second time Mina shoves a guard into the icy depths below. As he falls he shouts ‘What did I ever do to yooouuuu...?’
The last guard to take action, not having anything to attack Goroh with retreats five and holds his hands in front of him; as if surrendering.
Kansu taps his staff on the ground. Both his hand and the staff begin frosting over as an orb of immense cold streaks out from his other hand at the woman.
The woman seems to be able to doge the spell; she glances briefly at Kansu after her narrow escape, then looks to the fallen Soren.
Goroh looks at the guard who retreated
Goroh then charges towards the woman, deciding that an unarmed guard is less threat than a magic-wielder
Goroh attacks the woman, though he is not able to charge her due to obstructions in his path; he knocks her to the ground, and she does not move from where she lays.
This leaves only the surrendered guard, and the one that retreated five paces from Soren.
Aidan holds his staff aloft and looses a barrage of scorching rays that are evenly split between the two guards
The guards drop to their knees as they are hit; but neither appears to be in fatal condition.
Aidan chuckles, maintaining his position on the mast
Soren puts away his sword, moving to the other Soren. "This fight is over." He crouches, checking on the man's health before patching him up just the slightest bit - enough to keep him intact, anyway. [Cure Minor Wounds, one point recovered and stable if needed.]
Goroh cracks his knuckles.
<+Goroh> "So, why is there someone who looks exactly like you and claims to be you?"
Kansu checks the woman's pulse.
When Soren crouches in front of his counterpart, he finds that the life has already faded from him; perhaps it did as soon as Soren’s blade sliced through his organs. His corpse continues to stare at Soren with a lifeless smirk.
The woman has very little pulse, but she is not completely dead.
Mina moves toward the others gripping her wounded arm. Mina closes her eyes and shakes her head letting off an annoyed grumble "Well so much for getting any answers..."
<+Kansu> "Amazingly she is not dead. We might be able to ask questions after all."
Kansu points at the woman.
<@Soren> "We never get any answers. Ever. What did you expect?"
<+Kansu> "Or you could keep talking and let her die."
<@Soren> "Don't waste your time. Go find Lilith."
The guard who had tried to surrender quakes as he stares at the deck between his palms, he almost looks as if he is about to vomit from the pain he has received.
Kansu shrugs and begins searching the boat.
Mina joins Kansu for the search
Mina and Kansu continue to search the ship; which seems to turn up the same results. All they can find in the cargo hold is stacks and stacks of crates and boxes labeled as medical and ration supplies. Aside from the group, the injured guards, and the dieing women, the boat seems quite lifeless.
Kansu returns to the deck, "Nobody here."
<+Goroh> "Damn. Where could she be?"
The guard seems to regain his composure after a string of long, deep breaths. He starts to progress his way towards the woman on his hands and knees.
When the guard reaches the woman, he pulls a small bottle from his pocket and starts to pour its contents down the woman’s throat.
Goroh watches cautiously
He slowly sets her head back onto the ground and sets a hand on her chest; it almost seems to glow a soft blue, and as it does so her eyes flutter open.
She blinks a few times, staring upwards in almost a daze. She then looks to the guard with a confused expression. ‘Where is Soren?’
<+Goroh> "Which soren?"
<@Soren> "Here." Soren curtly speaks up, still looking out over the edge of the ship.
She glances towards Soren, still looking a bit dazed; perhaps the knock has jumbled her memory some. The guard beside her holds his tongue for the moment. ‘Why are we still docked?’ she asks, ‘We are never going to make that quota at this rate.’
Kansu ponders.
<@Soren> "Your guess is as good as mine." He turns to the rest of the group. "Refresh my memory - what are we taking where?"
She lets out a single laugh; ‘Is your amnesia acting up again? We are headed for Tahis; we have to drop off one crate of medical supplies, and two crates of rations; that was the order.’
The guard sets a hand on her shoulder, ‘Miss...?’ she brushes his hand away and asks; ‘What is it Maneck?’
Maneck leans towards her, whispering something under his breath; her puzzlement only seems to grow as she asks, ‘What do you mean it isn’t him? Of course it is.’
