<+Gorland> "Alright then.."

Kansu walks over to the staircase, keeping an eye on his spell.

The door to the inn opens, letting a sudden gust of cold air burst into the warm atmosphere. A mage with a heavy mail pouch stumbles into the inn. He quickly gains his bearings and pushes the door closed behind himself; ‘Wow! What a storm out there.’

Kansu looks at his spell curiously and turns to face Mina.

Kansu unfocuses his eyes and says a minor arcane word.

Gorland looks to the mage for a moment. "Indeed..." he said quietly before glancing at the other stranger, then staring blankly at the floor.

Kansu wanders over to Gorland and whispers, "The spell says the cat's our little friend. How should we go about this?"

The mage dusts the snow off his long coat and looks to the innkeeper, "Room ten, still?" The innkeeper simple nods.

he cat rolls onto its feet and makes a dash for the stairs. Reflex save for Mina if she wishes to stop it.

Gorland nods softly, still staring at the floor. "I had a feeling."

Mina makes no attempt to stop the cat and turns toward the new stranger

Gorland stands while transforming into a cat, rushing after the pet.

The cat is too swift, and Kansu does not manage to cast before it is up the first steps.

Kansu stops fishing the materials he needed out of his belt pouch and hurries after the cat and Gorland.

Gorland heads up the stairs in the direction the cat went.

The cat continues to race up the stairs; upon reaching the third level of the building it starts to dash down the hall towards the window ledge on the far side.

The mage blinks a few times at the scene and makes for the stairs.

The innkeeper calmly pulls a crossbow from behind his counter and starts to follow.

Kansu fishes a piece of quartz out of his spell pouch, chanting in frosty breath. He forces his hand out, sending a shockwave of cold that leaves frost on the walls. A wall of solid ice forms at the end of the hall, blocking off access to the window.

Gorland is still speeding towards the cat, trying to catch up.

The cat looks startled as it sets its paws against the ice, meowing loudly.

Soon enough the mage and innkeeper reach the top of the stairs; the innkeeper aims his loaded weapon at Kansu, pulling back the bow; ‘You get away from my cat.’

Goroh looks over

<+Goroh> "Well, this should be interesting."

Gorland stalks closer to the cat suspected to be Lilith and meows softly.

<+Kansu> "Why is it my divinations tell me it's not a cat then?"

Goroh gets up out of his seat, walking upstairs.

The innkeeper says; "I am warning you; I hate to shoot a guest, but..."

Mina moves up the stairs after the mage and the innkeeper arriving as the innkeeper finishes his sentence "Alright alright everyone calm down, no need to get violent..."

<+Kansu> "I'm not even near the cat. My friend wanted to talk to it, so I got its attention."

The cat tries to back away from Gorland, but it does nothing but slide along the ice a bit.

Gorland steps closer, ignoring the words of the innkeeper.

Kansu keeps an eye on the mage more than the innkeeper, keeping track of his movements.

The mage looks between Kansu and the Innkeeper, and then to Mina.

The innkeeper points his crossbow at Gorland; "Well then; you better tell your feline friend to get away from my cat."

Goroh steps up, quietly, behind the innkeeper

Goroh changes his mind and steps up behind the mage

Gorland doesn't seem faltered by anything. Seems more relaxed than anything, still meowing.

<+Kansu> "I don't want to have to knock you out. Let him finish, we won't hurt the cat."

Mina "Why...why do you want that cat?"

The mage turns to looks at Goroh; "...." he reaches towards the pouch at his side.

Kansu notices the mage and reaches for his as well.

The mage says; "I don't know what ideas you have up those sleeves, but you better back away from me and my mail."

<+Goroh> "I have nothing up these sleeves."

Goroh holds his hands up, letting the mage see.

The cat seems to give up its escape attempt, and sits staring at Gorland.

Gorland sits as well

The mage narrows his eyes; "Well; back away from me anyways."

<+Goroh> "Why? I am simply taking interest in the commotion and walking quietly."

The innkeeper lowers his crossbow; "Fine; I can't shoot a helpless cat... but I'm not going anywhere."

Mina sighs in relief as the inn keep lowers her crossbow "Whew..."

<+Goroh> ". . . So does anyone know what they're meowing about?"

<+Kansu> "Not really."

<+Mina> "Does it look like I speak cat?" *mina shakes her head*

The cat takes a few steps towards Gorland, and then makes for the stairs.

Gorland tries to keep up with her, still meowing.

Goroh tries to stop the cat

Kansu steps aside and allows his ice wall to melt, watching the two cats go by.

Gorland stops at the top of the stairs, shaking, but does not move from where he's at, letting the cat go.

The cat continues down the stairs; the innkeeper pauses for a moment, and then follows.

Goroh is able to scoop up the cat; but it isn't happy and hisses loudly; raking its claws down his arm.

<+Goroh> "Gah! Quit it!"

Gorland is still shaking, but turns around and hisses at Goroh. "Let her go!"

The innkeeper points the crossbow at Goroh; "What did I say about touching my cat?!"

<+Goroh> "Fine"

Goroh puts the cat down

Kansu sighs, "Let's hope you didn't ruin Gorland's work."

The cat races off as it is placed down.

The innkeeper lowers his crossbow and follows the cat.

The mage doesn't seem to know what to do for a moment, but eventually walks over to the room numbered 10 and knocks on the door.

He waits for a moment, but there doesn't seem to be any answer; so he heads down the stairs as well.

Gorland just stands there, still, not moving yet.

Kansu stands with Gorland, looking questioningly at him.

<+Gorland> "...Do any of you know The First Story Ever Told?"

<+Goroh> "That's probably a good answer for you right there, none of us saying we do."

Gorland hisses at Goroh. "You're getting very irksome."

Gorland recomposes himself and begins weaving teh story woven to him minutes earlier.

<+Gorland> A long and endless time ago the gods were born into nothing; and they frolicked and played within the emptiness of eternity. Until they grew so tired of themselves and one another they started to create;

<+Gorland>  and create they did; many worlds and many planes where they could dwell and watch their creations flourish. Everything they did was connected by threads of eternity; anchored to the tallest tower ever known - so high that it stretches through many worlds; always clouded and cloaked by white storms.’

<+Gorland> "That apparently... Is the first story ever told. And the tower..The anchor of reality? Is Felton Tower."

<+Kansu> "Lovely."

<+Gorland> "...We have to let her find it...And when she.and someone else...When they find it together? We must stop them from destroying it.."

<+Kansu> "What exactly do you mean?"

<+Gorland> "I mean that we wait. We trail her. We follow her. And we wait. When she's ready to destroy reality. We stop her."

Mina rises one eyebrow "......"

<+Kansu> "Can I go to sleep then?"

<+Gorland> "Sure."

<+Kansu> "Not that I understand this much."

Kansu shrugs and goes downstairs.

<+Goroh> "So that cat really WAS Lillith?"

<+Gorland> "Yes, you daft fool."

<+Goroh> "Gee, I'm sorry I don't know cat."

Goroh heads into his room

Kansu went downstairs.

Mina rubs her forehead getting a slight head ache "You know what, so much as happened lately...I think I need to sleep this all off..."

Goroh heads downstairs then

Kansu finds that the innkeeper is once again behind his counter. Humming a simple tune.

Mina moves to the inn keep to inquire about a room

Kansu approaches the innkeeper, "No hard feelings. Rooms still available?"

Gorland sighs and pounces up to the windowsill, staring outwards.

The innkeeper looks to the sets of keys behind the counter; "Oh... I don't know...."

He pulls out two sets of keys; "I'll give you the two rooms beside that couple; but that's all you and your friends are getting."

Kansu takes the keys and pays, "Surprising. You're denying our money? Well, it's your inn."

Mina takes one of the keys "Thank you, we are grateful."

The innkeeper shrugs and goes to recording the rooms on the chart; "You are welcome, beautiful." he pauses for a moment and looks over his shoulder with a grin; "Actually; if your friend will take a date with me, I might be kind enough to offer two more rooms."

<+Kansu> "You like the dangerous women, eh?"

<+Mina> "Uhh..yeah...sorry,I think I'll get some sleep." *mina goes slightly red and makes for her room...quickly*

"Dangerous and beautiful." he laughs and then frowns "Only two rooms then; have a good night."

Kansu frowns and runs his hand along the counter on his way to the room, leaving trails of ice on it.

Goroh takes up a chair near the fireplace.

Gorland is still perched on the windowsill up in the hallway

Mina enters her room and sighs as she sits on the bead looking out into the snow storm thinking about the current turn of events as well as the bounty that has been placed on her

And so the group heads towards their various places of rest; the winter storm continues to blaze throughout the night and into the morning, ice flakes scratch at the windows as if trying to break in. The group is left with the ‘First Story’ dwelling in their minds.

What would happen if someone destroyed the anchor of reality; or even one, or all the strands of eternity? I guess we will have to learn more next session; for this is where we end tonight.
